Books on Bikes
Youth Rising’s Books on Bikes is a library-on-wheels community outreach and literacy project that intends to improve literacy levels in communities by offering educational resources to children right at their door.
How it Works
Books on Bikes partners with schools to deliver learning materials to learners. Before commencement, every school MUST sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Youth Rising.
On signing the agreement, the school will submit names of the students to our office for registration in our Library System.
02. Receiving Books
All learners receive a unique identification number and start receiving one book per week.
03. Returning Books
Learners must return books and on time to avoid disruptions in supply.
Registering Your School/Institution
Schools, non-profit institutions, orphanages, churches and all places that work with children within our community can join this program.
Little Stars Academy
This is a HEADSTART Program for children ages 3 -5 years that are not attending any form of early childhood education. Our volunteers work with parents to teach children in basic writing, numeracy, phonetics, reading and art.
All children must be registered prior to the start of the program. Check our events calendar on registrations.
Children meet with their volunteer teacher everyday from 8.30 AM – 11.30 AM
We follow a learner-centered curriculum. Children learn through play and creative imagination.
