Challenge Question
The International Day of Families provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families as well as to promote appropriate action. The Day can become a powerful mobilizing factor on behalf of families in all countries, which avail themselves of this opportunity and demonstrate support of family issues appropriate to each society.
Family is the basic building block of a nation. In any country’s development, families must be center stage. In not more than 500 words, describe how families in Uganda are shaping the social and economic fabric of the country.
Developing Your Essay
We recommend that you take your time to develop your submission in Ms. Word before you paste it into the application form. Develop your essay as a one-page, not more than 500 words, Times New Roman, Size 12, single-spaced, and Justified. a) Make sure you have a PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat installed on the computer you are using.
b) Download the registration form here which is a fillable PDF form and fill in all your personal details on page 1.
Registration Number:
Please note that your registration number is your month of birth (2 digits) and last 2 digits of year of birth, first 3 letters of your first name and the last 2 letters of your surname and for example: Paul Smith born 19/10/19. His registration number is therefore 1019PAUSM.
c) Proceed to page 2 and enter your essay in the box provided.

d) Once you have filled in all the fields, save your PDF form as your name: eg. JohnKizito, and email it as an attachment with a recent portrait picture of yourself to info@youth-rising.org
